I have been looking into knitwear companies as possible ideas for the future and as work experience. In Florence, the company Acorn was exhibiting, at Pitti Imagine Filati. They specialize in fabric swatches for knitwear and sell their patterns to both designers and high street markets. No photos of swatches are shown as I wasnt alowed to take photographs, but it looks like a really interesting company with unique and creative sampling.

developed samples.
These samples are alot more successful, I have used a 12 gauge machine which produces much finer delicate knits. The yarns I have used in these samples work better as well. The monofilament element works really well and I also used lurex with gives a translucent look. Viscose, silk and fine cottons work really well and give excellent drape to the sample which is what I was aiming for. Now I need to play around more with techniques and combinations of these techniques with colour proportions.
Out of these samples, I think the bright pink and white works best. It is more up to date and relates better to my inspiration of jellyfish.
I am going to focus on bringing out these brighter colours within my knit.
