Ismini Samanidou is directly inspired by textured surfaces. For these pieces she has looked at peeling walls, which I find interesting and which also ties in with my project. I have tried to create textures from my images in my weave by using papers and fraying fabrics. I need to further push this by painting on top and ripping into bits to make it look even more worn. I will do this after I have taken it off the loom.
