knit interpretation

I have been looking at using hand knit to interpret aspects of John Rylands library. It works well using rib knit and cableing, below I have created my own pattern.

However when we brought all our work together as a group, the knit samples didnt fit in as well. I think that it would be more successful if we just use drawings and paintings as these are more successful when putting them into prints for the projection.

I think that using subtle earthy colours, like the colours from the library, will work well as some members of my group are using bright colours, so this should give a good balance.
