Metre by Metre drawing. Reconstructed.

I started of by doing a metre by metre drawing, doing squares of different areas relating to my project, particularly focusing on textures and then stitching them together, allowing the piece to fold.

The most successful areas are done in pencil and this drawing has made me realise that this is my strongest media to work in.

In the drawing workshop I then reconstructed this drawing into something new. I cut it into strips, creating my own yarn and then knitted it together. I liked the idea of this and the 'yarn' itself was quite successful. It was very time consuming though as the paper ripped alot, however it did work better when the paper was cut into much thinner strips. In the future I would like to experiment more with knitting and yarns. I also find it really interesting to totally recreate a drawing and I would like to try this idea again.
