Samples.

This week I have been looking more into relating my embroidery samples with my research. I took a number of photos of textures and pattern. I then creating samples, taking inspiration from these photos.

I think that the reverse applique samples are the most successful as it creates alot of interesting different textures and layers and I think this also works really well within my project.

In the tailor tacking sample (below), I looked more at the colours and lines in the photo rather than the shapes like I did in the other samples. The tailor tacking technique is a really effective way of creating texture in a piece, in future projects I would like to experiment with this more.
